Born on 20th June, 1977 in Deoli, Maharashtra, Sharad Sonkusale studied at the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. He completed his M.F.A. in Painting in 2004. He was won several awards and participated in many shows. All his canvases emanate grays, reminiscent of some unknown shadows. The gradation of grays, the crudest way to depict the persistence of a shadow, often finds place with his temporal shadows of acrylic sheets with melted edges. Sharad chooses to conceal his layers, along with lines and scribbles that look embedded in the color.
